Red Rock, Blue Skies

For the Skywatch Friday meme, here's a photo taken on a hike this past Sunday with Socks in Red Rock Canyon.
It's hard to judge the size of the rock, but notice the fully-grown pine tree in the bottom-left of the photo to get a sense of the scale.

  6. You photograph your environment so well. There is nothing like the color combination of salmon rocks, blue, blue, sky, and dark green foliage. Nothing!

  7. What a lovely color of the mountain!

I have to mention.. we watched one night "should not be alive" on Discovery channel.. about a young girl hiking with her dog in the Rocky Mountains!! I was overwhelmed by the huge land of mountains!! Luckily this girl and dog survived, about 20 days without food, and with loss of water quite long periods..
    The film touched me!

  9. Wow. If you didn't point out the pine tree, I wouldn't have noticed the scale. Impressive. And beautiful color contrast between the rock and the sky too.
