Strange Cloud

Here's a cloud photographed driving at sunset in north Denver. I was stopped at a gas station at the time and I'm sure people wondered what I was doing. One person even waited in their car so as to not get in the way while I took the photo!
It's for Skywatch Friday. It's also a strange weather phenomenon for Tina's PicStory theme of weather.

  1. So what happened that night? It looks ominous although absolutely beautiful at the same time.

  2. hi, Al,
Oh, two dragons are flying in the sunset! The colors of the clouds in the sunset do not remain long but change rapidly. You captured the best moment!
This year is the year of a dragon.
    Have a great week!

  7. I agree with the other comment about the dragons! Yes, they are dragon tails going into the clouds. The fire from their breath is making the cloud red! Gorgeous!

  8. Fascinating cloud! My husband and I saw the most incredible sunset of our lives in Denver. We came out of the Natural History Museum to a sky that was boiling red and black from one horizon to the other. We took slides, which unfortunately I don't have access to to post or I would post them. I will never forget it. though!

Thanks for your comment about the Ivory-Billed. It is so very sad that we lose so many species every year!
