We did the same with my brother's dog a a couple years ago, after my brother had his divorce. (He was doing a lot of traveling for work at the time). It was a sad time for us all, but in the end it worked out perfectly.
Congratulations! What a cute pup... Just keep an eye on the two of them. For the most part, our two got along when we got them - but there were squabbles along the way.
Oh poor Laika. If I'm not wrong, you've taken care of her some days previously...? I'm glad you could take care of her permanently, and that she is getting well on with Socks! :)
And now there are two! I remember seeing the pics of her and Socks together before when she was visiting. She's lucky you're there for her. (You are lucky too, she's a cutie).
Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment - I love reading them and look forward to viewing your blog. If you only allow Google+ comments I won't be able to leave a comment in return.
Born in London, I've lived in The Netherlands, New York, and Washington DC. Now I've settled down in Colorado and love taking pictures. Until October 2014 I used a Nikon D40X, but now it's a Nikon D5300. I do almost no photo editing - occasionally I will crop or remove a dust spot, but that's all. What comes out of the camera is what you see here.
