Top of the Peak

Taken from inside the train just before starting the descent, here are some folk enjoying themselves on top of Pikes Peak, elevation 14,115 feet (4,302 meters) above sea level. I bet they didn't know they'd be in a Skywatch Friday blog post!

  3. Love this pic! When you told me you lived at 7000 feet, your winters must be long, eh?

  5. Always enjoyed my time on Pikes Peak, but there isn't much air up there. Great sky photo.

  6. Even though the people don't know about appearing in your beautiful Skywatch photo, they add in interesting human element. Have a great day. Jo

  7. Beautiful; nothing like that view and that sky. The silhouetted people really add to the shot.

  9. Hi Al

Love this photo! I hope to climb Pike's Peak next summer.
We went up to the summit if Mt. Evans, 14,130 feet by car and then climbed the last 130 feet. Now that peak road is closed to cars because of snow.

PS: I think I solved my website problem. I eliminated a lot of third party links on my sidebar and that took care of it--at least I hope so!

  11. They have the look of people who are hanging out hoping that they make a SWF post. You have made their life complete.

  13. Gorgeous Al! I visited Pike Peak as a teenager with my family… it was the first time I had ever seen tundra. Such a beautiful place, I still remember.
