Here are some more night photos from the United States Air Force Academy this weekend, showing scenes more commonly photographed in daylight - this time it's the B-52 bomber.
It's a real B-52 that flew many combat missions, now mounted for an impressive display.
I liked the moon behind the plane in that last shot. It was also the highest ISO I used, 12,800.

ReplyDeleteYour night photos are fantastic! In the early 60s, my dad was a navigator on a B-52. He has some great photos of his plane refueling in midair.
ReplyDeleteAmazing pictures and the one with the moon is beyond wonderful. I'm nearly speechless with awe.
ReplyDeleteIt looks so much more dramatic at night!! I agree that the shot with the moon is incredible!!!
ReplyDeleteLots of sky time for those planes!
ReplyDeleteI love these night shots! Very well done, and pushing the ISO really worked well.
ReplyDeletegreat shots. from your new fancy camera?
ReplyDeleteFantastic shots. Very nice angles.
ReplyDeleteI've never tried night shots like these, Al - at least none I'll admit to! Great shots of the plane in the moonlight. I just got an E-mail from a friend who lives in the Springs saying you have about 4" of snow. We've got about 2 feet so far and still snowing.
ReplyDeleteWow - amazing shots.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful set of images. Congratulations for thinking outside the box and capturing some excellent photos. Really nice work.
ReplyDeleteVERY nice photos Al!
ReplyDeleteGreat night shots! I love that you photographed the B-52 at night! Yes, we were in Co Springs back in July, visiting friends as part of our trip. Had been there before when our daughter was a baby, though. Just loved every inch of that trip, including the Springs.
