Muir Woods

Muir Woods is a National Monument near San Francisco famous for its very tall trees.
The photos don't do them justice, as the tallest are 250 feet (79 meters) high - most of these photos were captured with an ultra-wide angle lens.
Looking up can make a person dizzy!
I recommend a visit to Muir Woods to anybody who's visiting the San Francisco area - it's one of the country's truly amazing places.

    I think you have done really well to capture their height. They are so remarkably straight.

    Love those tall trees! We have some big ones here in Oregon too, but probably not quite as tall as those. Your photos do a great job capturing the height.

    I was eager to see how you made pictures of these amazing trees... I wasn't able to begin to do them justice, and I agree that you do have to see them 'in person', but I really do thnk your pictures do a wonderful job of showing them. And that one actually does make me dizzy.

    I can never get a good photo in Muir Woods. The lighting is always wrong when I'm there.

    One my all time favorite places. Your photos of it are beautiful Al.
    Way back in the day, there were redwoods up and down most of the California coast. That is so sad!
