The Kansas City metropolitan area is split between the states of Kansas and Missouri, and when you're visiting you will switch back many times, often without noticing. Here's the downtown Kansas City skyline, taken from the Missouri side.
And some photos of the well-known Union Station; again this is on the Missouri side.

The station is a very impressive building.

ReplyDeleteKansas City is a fun place. Union Station has quite a history. There are pock marks on the side of the building from a shootout with Pretty Boy Floyd. Too bad passenger trains no longer arrive at Union Station.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you took some pics from the WWI memorial.
ReplyDeleteI loved Union Station. You could almost here ghosts of the gazillions of people who have trvavelled thorugh it.
I like your last photo. The night shot is great!
ReplyDeleteWow, I did not know that. Great little tidbit. Was telling the husband that we definitely must visit other states.
ReplyDeleteWorth a Thousand Words
Very beautiful photos. I always knew somehow that there were two KCs, but until we visited I didn't realize that it really was just one kind of artificially divide by an imaginary line.
ReplyDeleteNice views, Al. I have not yet been to either Kansas or Missouri.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics are those that depict emotions and you greatly achieved that through this pics. Awesome.
ReplyDeleteHow interesting! The station is an impressive building. I particularly like your last shot.
ReplyDeleteNice shots. I like the last picture.
ReplyDeletelove night scenes in the city - they have that special atmosphere!
ReplyDeleteI also love night shots of city scenes. The last photo is fantastic. Not an easy photo.
ReplyDeleteAt a glance, Kansas City's Union Station resembles that of Washington DC. Old train stations were almost regal, weren't they - great architecture!
ReplyDeleteHope to see you at this week's Wordless Wednesday (on Tuesday):
