Kansas City & Union Station

The Kansas City metropolitan area is split between the states of Kansas and Missouri, and when you're visiting you will switch back many times, often without noticing. Here's the downtown Kansas City skyline, taken from the Missouri side.
And some photos of the well-known Union Station; again this is on the Missouri side.

  3. Kansas City is a fun place. Union Station has quite a history. There are pock marks on the side of the building from a shootout with Pretty Boy Floyd. Too bad passenger trains no longer arrive at Union Station.

  4. It looks like you took some pics from the WWI memorial.

I loved Union Station. You could almost here ghosts of the gazillions of people who have trvavelled thorugh it.

  7. Very beautiful photos. I always knew somehow that there were two KCs, but until we visited I didn't realize that it really was just one kind of artificially divide by an imaginary line.

  14. At a glance, Kansas City's Union Station resembles that of Washington DC. Old train stations were almost regal, weren't they - great architecture!
Hope to see you at this week's Wordless Wednesday (on Tuesday):
