Winter Blast

We had a warm, sunny winter. But spring has seen snow, the most recent on Friday night and Saturday, when about 8 inches (20 cm) fell in our neighborhood.
It's been cold too, with temperatures falling to 23 °F (-5 °C) Saturday night. But it does make for some pretty scenes.
It's already mostly melted and hopefully winter won't make another return, although snow in May isn't unusual at our elevation of 7,100 feet (2,164 meters) above sea level. And that's a cold entry for Our World Tuesday.

  4. I posted about the Colorado snow of the past week...on the western slope, where my sister lives.

When she told me it was snowing, I wasn't surprised. I remember when I lived there for nearly 50 years, we had picnics in the Rockies on the 4th of July....in snow!!

  8. The cold has its drawbacks but at least it gives us beautiful images with the snow that it brings.
It's a cold day today. It will be about 16 degrees. To find that snow I would have to travel 100 kilometers.

  11. Brrrr (although I'm sure it is gone by now.) When they first moved to Colorado I used to call our kids when I read about some weird weather happening -- and they always told me "oh it's cleared up by now".
