More Skiing!

We had some fresh snow in the mountains and I had Friday off, so it was time for a ski day at Copper Mountain Resort. Maybe some steep above timberline bowl skiing looks attractive? I was about 12,300 feet (3,750 meters) above sea level when I took out the phone for this photo.
Or possibly going through the trees in a few inches of fresh powder is more your style?
Either way it made for a great ski day, and the phone means I could take a couple of photos for Skywatch Friday too.

  1. Never been skiing , think I'm a bit old to learn now plus we don't get much here in the UK

  2. At that altitude you must have stoped skiing to catch your breath. Beautiful images.

  7. Beautiful scenes, and I'm glad we don't have that much snow here in upstate New York. I'd rather see it from afar. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

  12. A skiing photographer! Beautiful shots, and I envy you your ski day. Been too many years since I've skied powdery bowls and shortcuts through the trees, and not sure these old knees could do it anymore!!

  13. This could be in western Alberta, in the Rocky Mountains much beloved by Canadian skiers. I love to see the snow and the sky but, I must admit at this stage in my life, I'd rather not be out in it!
Thanks for the beauty in your photos.

  14. Yes, it is utterly beautiful -- so still and quiet. And in the pictures I can ignore the fact that it is cold. (We used to enjoy cross-country skiing in Oregon but our mountains are not quite the same as your mountains!).
