Tetons

Here are some photos of the Grand Tetons, just south of the Yellowstone park. We made a day-trip through the park on our last day in the area, and I'd highly recommend it.
Photos don't do these impressive mountains justice, but these are my attempts to capture them on one day when the light wasn't very good, for Scenic Sunday. I'd love to go back and spend a week exploring and photographing them at sunrise.

  1. Gorgeous captures as always, Al! I love the Grand Tetons! I would love to be able to visit them again, but in case I don't, I still have your marvelous photos to remind me of the beauty! Enjoy your weekend!

  7. I have been so busy lately, I haven't had time to comment--but when these pictures came up, I gasped. Al--these are extraordinary! They fill my eyes.

Someday I am going to visit there again. I was only eight years old, or so when I was there last with my family.

Thank you for sharing these! I would LOVE to send some rain your way--we are saturated. The ground here is clay--it's like walking in quicksand in some places in the back yard!

Have a great weekend, my Friend!

  12. It's been decades since I drove in this gorgeous area but it was not winter with snow-topped Teton mountains. I've often mentioned I'd like to return there. I have no trouble visualizing this scenery in sunset, but your photos are plenty grand.

  17. Of all the mountain ranges that I've ever seen the Tetons are my favorite. I think its the way they just pop out of the surrounding countryside. In any event, they sure are beautiful and your photos capture them exactly as I remember these wonderful mountains.

  18. For not "capturing" the mountains well, you captured them well, Al! lol

I have had the same problem taking pictures of mountains--they never turn out as amazing as the real thing. Someday I hope I'll figure out how to capture the grandness of those mighty cliffs. If you find

In the meantime, I find these photos breathtaking.
