Dubrovnik Harbor (1)

For the Sunday Scans meme, here's a scanned slide of the beautiful Dubrovnik harbor.
I'm very pleased with how these 34-year-old slides have held up, and with how well they've scanned using my inexpensive home scanner. At this point, I've got all the photos I've ever taken scanned in fairly high resolution, and copied to the netbook I use for blogging.

  3. 34 years old? If you didn't say so, I would have thought this was a new, digital photo. Fabulous!

  6. It really is amazing how well the slides have held up. Just to be curious ... how do you SCAN a slide?

  7. That is amazing that these are slides and so old! They must have been kept in a very dark, very dry place. Keeping moisture down is one of the keys!

  9. old photos are like Facebook. I started my Facebook to publicise my book, and an ex student searched and found me despite me using my married name.

Not so good if the ex students of the school who were 13 or 14 when you didn't really teach, come and want to be your friends, using their Christian names and current photos. And you have no idea who they are.

It was great however, when they comment that they were so glad to find me And (LOL) how much better I look now than before. ( after more than 35 years.)
