I was recently at an Air Force Academy football game.
It's always a fun thing to see, even though I'm not particularly interested in watching sports. There are interesting traditions, such as cadets doing push-ups whenever Air Force scores, one per point. In a game like this where we scored over 30 points, that's a lot of push-ups!
And of course military bands and the like are always a pleasure to watch (and photograph).
And that's part of Our World this week, and all the colors make it my entry for PicStory's "color" theme this week!

What a fun, colorful day! I'm not a big football fan either, but it is fun to see so many things going on! And beautiful skies, lots of color and you can feel the excitement. Terrific captures and a fun look at a part of 'our world'! Hope you have a great week, Al!

What a colorful match! Thanks for joining PicStory :)
ReplyDeletePeople watching is always fun! :))
ReplyDeleteThe parts of the game that you feature would make it an enjoyable day for me too! And a what a gorgeous Colorado bright blue day it was too!
ReplyDeleteI'm not particularly interested in sports either but I love your photos. Especially the first one. The angle is amazing. That's really a lot of people!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen a home game at a service academy - but the pomp and circumstance makes this special. My parents went to Army games at West Point, and there was a parade and the style is what they remembered, and we see here...
ReplyDeleteThat looks great. My sister and her family live in Colorado Springs and go to the Air Force games quite a bit.
ReplyDeleteWOW, that stadium is HUGE!
ReplyDeleteBy the looks, it is a well attended sport event!
ReplyDeleteI've been to the academy, but didn't realize the stadium is so big. I see some of the spectators were wearing coats, so you must have had a nice fall day for football. Enjoy your fall, Al.
ReplyDeleteWhat a riot of joyous colours!
ReplyDeleteIt 'been a great event !!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a colourful post with so much pomp and circumstance! Great shots of all the uniforms.
ReplyDeleteSuch a very different world! The uniforms are so crisp.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to judge what the temperature must have been - the crowd seems to range from T-shirts to anoraks.
Love to watch this kind of event. Very colorful and fun!

What an amazing mix of colors! I'm not much of a football fan either but this would have been an interesting game to attend.
