Firewood

When I was hiking in the Black Forest Regional Park, I found these pieces of wood from last year's wildfire.

  8. I know how smokey those pieces must have smelled, Al. That was such a terrible, destructive fire. This year's rainy, wet summer was good to keep the fires away! It was very stormy in the Denver area today.

  12. Fire can be so sad and destructive, though I know it is often needed. Yes, the loss of the Royal Gorge buildings was a tragedy! Glad they have rebuilt and re-opened now. I was also glad to hear it didn't touch the bridge itself. I don't know if we will get back up to that area in the upcoming years, but if we do, I look forward to seeing it again. Glad the fire in your forest nearby didn't get to you!

Thank you so much, Al, for the congratulations on my 9th blog anniversary. I am glad we both are friends, even we live miles and miles far away. :)
