Summer Lightning

I've had no time to take photos the last week, so here's an archived photo from a summer thunderstorm, captured in my yard. It's not the clearest lightning photo I've taken, but I like the way it captured two separate lightning strikes.
I was asked who made the antler arch from the previous post, and unfortunately I don't know. I do know that you can find more skies both dramatic and placid on the great Skywatch Friday meme.

  1. Oh, this is fantastic, Al! So dramatic! I've hoped that some day I might be able to catch stormy skies like this, but I don't think I'm that good. I'll still give a shot though if I get the opportunity! Hope you have a wonderful weekend! Enjoy!

  2. You are a real master of lightning shots. We hardly ever get thunderstorms here, so I love seeing your clear lightning bolts.

one made serendipitously. Or perhaps you being lucky enough to capture it is where serendipity comes in.

  28. Hi - the high ISO speeds on my camera (D90) make it seem you could shot in the dark! Good luck with the new camera.
