Palmer Reservoirs Trail

Leading up from the town of Palmer Lake is a trail that leads past a couple of reservoirs. I've posted photos from here before, but earlier this summer I tried to find another trail that leads around a mountain between the reservoirs, instead of staying on the wide, crowded main trail. This side trail leads up just to the left of this rocky gully.
There's a real trail, but it isn't always great and has some trees down across it.
Eventually it crosses the stream. I didn't go too much further than this before turning around, so I didn't find my way to the second reservoir. But later in the summer I approached the trail from the other side, and was able to find the whole way around.
Of course, I'll post more photos from that other hike later. In the meantime, visit Scenic Sunday for more scenic shots from around the world.

  2. What a nature! What great stones! =) It must be hard to climb up there! Even when you follow the small trail, I guess!?

Beautiful and wild pictures! And yes-- why always follow the stream..
