Bellevue Botanic Gardens Flowers
While staying in Bellevue earlier this year, I took the opportunity to visit the Bellevue Botanical Garden, which was close to our hotel. I was impressed, and I've decided to start posting some of the photos from my visit. Here are some of the flowers which I enjoyed. It was a cloudy day, raining by the time that I left, but I was still happy with some of the photographic results.
Every photo I took in this garden was taken with my Sigma 50mm f/1.4 lens - there wasn't much light, and I really wanted to experiment with using a single non-zoom lens in the field as well as trying a narrow depth of field, forcing me to actively compose the photos. Your pictures are so lovely. We live 15 minutes from Descanso Gardens, and I'm taking a watercolor class there on Sat. morning. So beautiful, hope to paint some flowers this week.

Did Alistair Senior's accident make it to the newspaper in USA? Or was it another Alistair. You better lay low for a while and not chase any thunder for a while.
My husband felt a bit worried. Two men in the engineering industry died this week, One to meningitis and one to this accident.

I always love seeing photos of flowers! The bright colors are beautiful. Especially love how you captured the white flowers in your second photo. I wonder if they're a type of hydrangea :-)

I wish i had 1/4 fix lens for my eos 500d. For now, I still rely on my 50mm f1/8...

A coworker of mine is taking a photography class...and she has got me thinking that I will do the same. I know very little about light/lenses/etc. Following some photography blogs has really got me interested! Great shots!
