River of Aspen

For this week's Tina's PicStory theme of "leafs" as well as my weekly Our World Tuesday post, here's a photo from the middle of October showing a river of bright yellow aspen leaves, taken on a hike above the Palmer Lake Reservoirs.
Of course, these bright colors are long-gone.

  6. The thread of gold passing through the green adds such a lovely contrast of color to the forest environment. :)

  8. The Rockies offer a sea of green, the evergreens predominate. However, the brilliant aspen appears as a rapids flowing strongly through the sea. It stands out for sure!

  9. Visiting from Our World Tuesday ...it was so nice to see the Aspens looking so healthy! I know form my kids who both live in Colorado that there was concern about them, and pine trees not doing well the past few seasons.

  15. That is so beautiful, if the same scene is here that means the trees are dying or infected because our trees are green all the time.
