Theatre of Dionysus

For Sunday Scans this week, here's the last of my photos from Greece in 1973. This time it's the Theatre of Dionysus. There's so much to see here I'd love to go back again, as an adult with a clue about photography and a decent camera. But I have to admit that I'd be nervous about all the unrest and strikes, and I'm not sure I'd lay out the large amount of money to travel there at this time.

  1. I'm not an expert, by any means, but this looks really nice. Greece is one of those far-away dreams that I travel through photos like yours.

  2. Once again you've stirred such lovely memories of Greece. My kids Dad was a member of the US Pentathlon team and a silver medalist in the 1964 Olympics. The pentathlon team was based on the ancient Greek one for military participants. So visiting Greece and the site of the original Olympics was a thrill for both of us -- particularly him. I would so love to travel there again, but like you, I don't think this is the time -- even if I could afford it!! Hope you and Socks have a great day with lots of sunshine!

  3. I've always been interested in Greece, too. And it seems like any capture of this beautiful city would be a wonderful photo. Love seeing it through your young eyes :D

  5. Not an expert too but I think you still captured the awe factor here. Great vantage point too.
