We had visitors in town this weekend so we took them to Garden of the Gods, and caught the last remaining autumn color.
Pikes Peak had its first real snowfall on Thursday, so it stood out.
One of the best views in the park is through the Siamese Twins rock formation; this requires a short hike so many tourists miss it.
But anywhere you look it was beautiful.
We couldn't drive to the top of the Peak because of the snow but Garden of the Gods kept our visitors happy. I love having scenery like this right in my own city!

Garden of the Gods is one of my favorite walks in the Springs, but I'm careful to stay on the paths. Original looking photos for this place.

ReplyDeleteWe were there 15 years ago. It is one of the most beautiful places I have been in this country. It is so different from what we have here in the Blue Ridge. Your photos are wonderful.

ReplyDeleteWorth a Thousand Words
I believe you Al, anywhere you look is beautiful. But i prefer the view through that framed hole, which you said not many were able to reach. I love the transition of the colors through the horizon, awesome!

ReplyDeleteYou got some beautiful light in these photos, Al! I still have to blog about our trip last month to the Garden of the Gods. I was happy to remember to hike up to see the view through the Siamese Twins rocks. My younger brother will be visiting soon from Massachusetts, and we are all taking the Cog Railroad --should be fun!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots. Fantastic framing.
