Pikes Peak As Seen From Our House

Great Garden

We had visitors in town this weekend so we took them to Garden of the Gods, and caught the last remaining autumn color.
Pikes Peak had its first real snowfall on Thursday, so it stood out.
One of the best views in the park is through the Siamese Twins rock formation; this requires a short hike so many tourists miss it.
But anywhere you look it was beautiful.
We couldn't drive to the top of the Peak because of the snow but Garden of the Gods kept our visitors happy. I love having scenery like this right in my own city!

  8. We were there 15 years ago. It is one of the most beautiful places I have been in this country. It is so different from what we have here in the Blue Ridge. Your photos are wonderful.

  12. You got some beautiful light in these photos, Al! I still have to blog about our trip last month to the Garden of the Gods. I was happy to remember to hike up to see the view through the Siamese Twins rocks. My younger brother will be visiting soon from Massachusetts, and we are all taking the Cog Railroad --should be fun!

  14. Every bit of Colorado is pretty much stunning every season of the year. But it totally amazes me every time when I think of Garden of the Gods being your City Park. It is so beautiful. And so is that majestic peak! Your company was lucky to be there and to have such good guides!
