Continuing with my Vintage Weekly series of photos from New York taken during my first visit in 1978, here's one taken from the boat to the Statue of Liberty, looking backwards. This one took some serious editing to straighten, crop, and clean up the color.

ReplyDeleteGreat capture and memories!! Thanks for sharing!! Hope you're enjoying a great weekend, Al!!
ReplyDeleteWow that is a striking and sobering photograph. Thanks going to all the trouble to work on it and then posting.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful photo! Iconic. I imagine it is fun to work on the editing, as you remember the trip!
ReplyDeleteA great old photo, still a touch of sadness over the twin towers however, they will live forever in old photos and movies. Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteLovely view of NYC, a classic in photography, I just could not enjoy the Twin Towers.

Wonderful! Reminds me of my visits to NYC though I don't even have a photo from my first visit.
ReplyDeleteWe were there in 86 for the celebration and re-opening of the Statue of Liberty, and took a boat across and were able to get similar shots (not as good...terrible point and shoot shots!) Always so sad to see the Twin Towers.
